On the left, the \u2018Requirement Calculation Table\u2019 summarises the animal\u2019s details (age, environment, breed, temperament, sexual and physiological status) and the relevant coefficients applied.<\/p>\n\n
Poldo, aged \u201c4 years and 6 months\u201d; <\/p>\n\n
Environment: \u201cTemperature from 24\u00b0C to 11\u00b0C\u201d (correction factor: x1.0) \u2192 no reduction in demand; <\/p>\n\n
Breed type: \u201cOther\u201d (correction factor: x1.0) \u2192 no reduction in requirements; <\/p>\n\n
Temperament: \u201cNormal\u201d (correction factor: x1.0) \u2192 no reduction in requirements; <\/p>\n\n
Sexual status: \u201cCastrated\u201d (correction factor: x0.8) \u2192 20% reduction; <\/p>\n\n
Physiological status: \u2018Adult\u2019, with the selected age range \u20183\u20137 years\u2019.________________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n\n
On the right, the \u2018Summary Table\u2019 summarises the animal\u2019s current and ideal weight, the Gross Energy Requirement (GER) and the Daily Energy Requirement (DER), where:<\/p>\n\n
FEL = Ideal weight\u2070\u00b7\u2077\u2075 \u00d7 130 \/ 110 \/ 95 kcal EM (depending on the age group selected in section 4.3);<\/p>\n\n
FEG = FEL \u00d7 correction factors<\/p>\n\n
\ud83d\udcd8 Example:The \u201cSummary Table\u201d shows that Poldo currently weighs 11 kg and has an ideal weight of 11 kg;<\/p>\n\n
Poldo\u2019s Gross Energy Requirement (GER) is calculated as follows:11\u2070\u00b7\u2077\u2075 \u00d7 110 = 664 kcal EM<\/p>\n\n
Poldo\u2019s Daily Energy Requirement (DER) is calculated as follows:664 \u00d7 \u00d7 0.8 = 531 kcal EM\/day________________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n\n
You can manually adjust the FEG by increasing or decreasing it using the arrows next to the FEG cell (each click increases or decreases the FEG by 5%).<\/p>\n\n
\ud83d\udcbe Click Save to confirm the FEG you have just generated (and any changes you have made), then click Diet Formula to proceed with formulating the diet.<\/p>\n\n
